Baseball
Storm victories: The 13U Schaumburg Storm Travel Baseball Team, playing in the Schaumburg Athletic Association, completed the 2007 season Oct. 23 with six tournament victories. The Storm ended the season 64-19-1.
The season began in April with a third-place finish in the Batavia Early Bird Tournament, followed by third-place finishes in North Aurora and the Panther Classic in Streamwood.
At the end of May the Storm took home its first championship of the season at the Mundelein Memorial Day Classic. The team won a second tournament championship two weeks later at the Grand Slam Tournament in Racine, Wis.
At the end of June the Storm traveled to Knoxville, Tenn., to participate in the seventh annual USYBA Knoxville World Series. They bettered last year's record and brought home the USYBA Sportsmanship Award which is only given to one team.
In July the Storm won three tournament championships, the Streamwood Pony Slam, the Driscoll Highlander Classic and the Old Timers Athletic Club Tournament in Racine, Wis.
This fall the Storm went undefeated in the Fox Valley Fall League and won its sixth championship of the season. Playing for the Schaumburg Storm this year were Patrick Bellinger, Matt Brancato, Chris Carlson, Justin Charvat, Jeremy Hall, Roger Lane, Mike Petritis, Mark Roberts, Drew Roesch, Jose Ruelas, Billy Shanahan and David Wollschalger.
Softball
Camp-Clinic: Registration is open for the 8th Annual Wildcat Fastpitch Winter Softball Camp-Clinic for girls ages 9 to 14. Residency is not a requirement. The clinic starts Jan. 6 and will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Wheeling High School Field House, Elmhurst and Hintz roads, Wheeling.
Professional and college hitting and pitching instructors will participate. Training will cover hitting, pitching, base running and defense. Pitching instruction will be limited to the first 20 requests.
The cost is $80 for the January-February clinic. The number of participants is limited to 50. Wrestling
Annual meet: The Sharks Wrestling Club will host its annual meet Dec. 16 at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge. More than 45 clubs and 500 young wrestlers participated last year. The meet runs from early morning until late afternoon with 11 matches in progress at any given time.

Miscellaneous
Winter camps: The Northwest Special Recreation Association will hold Winter Break Camps Jan. 2 to 4 in the northwest suburbs. Three full days of action are planned, including crafts, gym activities, swimming and socializing. A community outing will be planned for one of the days. The cost for all camps is $67.50. They will be held at the following locations.
