Dimick helps Wauconda get started 2-0 at R-B again
Wauconda's boys basketball team has started this season just like it did last season -- with wins over Harvard and Richmond-Burton.
Connor Dimick scored 16 points, and Brad Wisniewski hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds left, as the Bulldogs defeated the host Rockets 48-45 at Richmond-Burton on Tuesday night.
Eric Grozavescu added 12 points and Scott Wahl had 9 for Wauconda.
On Tuesday night, Bryce Lahrman sank five 3-pointers and scored 19 points, as the Bulldogs opened the season with a 73-42 win over Harvard at R-B.
Grozavescu (11 points) and Wisniewski (10) also scored in double figures.
Wauconda will play Grayslake North at 6 p.m. Friday at Richmond-Burton. The tournament wraps up Saturday night.
Wauconda also beat Grayslake North in its third game last season.
Grayslake North 63, Harvard 36: At Richmond-Burton, Clay Henricksen scored 22 points for the Knights (1-1).
Rollin Idlas had 12 points and Brandon Schroth chipped in 9 for Grayslake North.
Lake Zurich 49, C-G 48: At Belvidere, the Bears outscored Cary-Grove 6-5 in overtime.
Brandon Kunz led LZ with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Connor Mooney and Andy Garlisch each scored 11 points in the win.
Lakes 83, Holy Trinity 61: At Buffalo Grove on Tuesday night, Kevin Guirand had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles in their season opener.
Trey Williams added 18 points and 8 boards. Lakes also got contributions from Dan Kalb (13 points, 5 rebounds), Kevin Rice (10 points) and John Androus (8 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds).
R-B 52, Grayslake North 49: At Richmond-Burton on Tuesday night, the Knights fell to the host Rockets, despite 14 points from Clay Henricksen.
Noel DeLaMar had 10 points for Grayslake North.
