Courteous motor vehicle department

Ms. Suzanne MacDonald, in a recent letter on child health care, took aim at the Department of Motor Vehicles as an example of an incapable and inefficient government bureaucracy.

Well, I had occasion this past summer to renew my license plates at the Wheaton office. I have two cars that require renewal about a month apart. I walked in the door and right up to the service desk. I presented the form for one vehicle which was processed immediately. I mentioned that I had a second vehicle but not the form for renewal. The gentleman serving me said "No problem" and brought the information up on his monitor. I paid for that vehicle as well and was on my way home.

Ms. MacDonald, I would have to say that was capable and efficient and courteous.
