Learn what your 'Water IQ' is at seminar

McHenry County College and the Environmental Law and Policy Center, the Midwest's leading environmental law and advocacy organization, will host "What Is Your Water IQ?" a community forum, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the MCC Conference Center, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The forum will address the state of water resources in the county and practical steps this community can take to conserve water and prevent water shortages.

County reports predict potential water shortages within a few years unless the county and residents act soon -- or now -- to conserve and protect water supplies.

MCC president Walter Packard will provide a welcome address, followed by a panel of local and regional water conservation experts, members of community groups and MCC faculty. Sessions will include interactive displays, open discussion of water-saving practices people can carry out at home.

A raffle and door prizes will also be featured.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. To register, e-mail info@elpc.org or call (312) 795-3729.
