Drop off toys at the Sullivan Center
The Sullivan Community Center, 635 N. Aspen Drive, and the Laschen Community Center, 294 Evergreen Drive, in Vernon Hills are collection sites for new, unwrapped toys in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Collection boxes are located in the lobbies of both community centers and toys will be accepted until Dec. 17.
The objective of the Toys for Tots program is to help needy children experience the joy of Christmas. Toys for Tots Coordinators of the Marine Corps Reserve Unit, stationed in Great Lakes, will pick up the collected toys and work with local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies to distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
Snowmobile club meets in Wauconda
The Wauconda Snowmobile Club will hold its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Wauconda Bowl, 381 W. Liberty St.
This year the club, one of the first in Illinois, marks its 40th anniversary. Owning or operating a snowmobile is not required for membership. The club meets the second Wednesday of the month October through March.

Theater trip targets lights of New York
See four of New York's hottest Broadway shows during a guided group tour over spring break, sponsored by the College of Lake County.
The college is sponsoring a five-day, four-night New York Theater Trip from March 25-29.
The guided tour includes tickets to four of the hottest Broadway shows, round-trip nonstop airfare from O'Hare, lodging for four nights in the Broadway show district and free time for sightseeing and shopping.
An informational meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in Room E124 (in the Job Center) at CLC's Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St.
The cost is $1,895 per person double occupancy. A $900 deposit is due on the registration deadline, Nov. 19.
The trip is a noncredit offering sponsored by the CLC Center for Personal Enrichment and will be led by two retired CLC faculty members, Eibhlin Glennon (theater) and Bruce Mack (music). The course number is CTRP 20.

Condell begins new support group
A new support group for women with cardiac disease starts at Condell Medical Center Nov. 27.
Women with heart disease or women with a family history of heart disease can benefit from the camaraderie and education this group will provide.
The first session will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Condell's Day Center Solarium, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville, located on the hospital's main campus. Future meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month, starting Jan. 29..
The group will be hosted by local resident and heart patient Debbie Dunn, a national WomenHeart spokesperson and speaker for the American Heart Association.
