Decorated models shine at new Hoffman Estates community

Model homes bursting with color provide a visual feast for visitors to Beacon Pointe, a new community of 109 single-family homes in Hoffman Estates.

Located three minutes from the Jane Addams Tollway's Beverly exit on Shoe Factory Road, Beacon Pointe offers seven single-family floor plans with four bedrooms, 2½ baths, basements, and two- or three-car attached garages.

Ryland Homes has teamed up with Designworks of Colorado to decorate the homes.

The community is near several area forest preserves, golf courses, shopping malls and the Metra train station.

"We've found that people who work in the Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Hanover Park areas want to stay here because it offers terrific commuter access and other conveniences," said Robert Meyn, vice president of sales and marketing for Ryland Homes.

"And the overwhelming interest by area buyers in Beacon Pointe further solidifies Hoffman Estates as a housing hot spot."

Model homes include the Manchester, priced from $488,990, with 3,122 square feet, four bedrooms, 2½ baths and attached three-car garage.

This home's decor is an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary with dark cherry, rattan and iron furnishings. A spruce, olive, white and chocolate color scheme decorates the home.

Entering the two-story foyer, there's a stunning view of dark hardwood floors against a backdrop of green and white. The living room features two off-white brocade love seats topped with colorful pillows and two chocolate-colored chairs.

A dark wood table topped with green plants adds warmth to the formal dining room, while a credenza with mirror sits against a green wall.

The large family room features a chocolate sectional that provides plenty of seating, along with a small game table for two. The fireplace with media niche and windows on either side creates a focal point in the room.

The kitchen's white cabinets contrast with dark wood floors and countertops for a dramatic look. An enormous L-shaped island offers a breakfast bar, more workspace and extra storage.

Tucked away in the rear corner, the study is set up as an in-home office with a Jeep theme.

The loft showcases a second-floor family room with a wall of built-ins that includes two desks.

Topped with a volume ceiling, the master suite features his-and-hers walk-in closets, a bed with a white spread and plaid duster, and a chocolate love seat.

The luxury bath has a double-bowl vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower.

Three secondary bedrooms served by a full hall bath feature an "Over the Hedge" movie theme, an equestrian motif and a room that's all about nursery rhymes.

This home offers the option of two master bedroom suites, ideal for in-laws or live-in nannies.

The South Hill, from $478,990, has 3,025 square feet, four bedrooms, 2½ baths and attached two-car garage.

This home showcases a cutting-edge, contemporary interior with espresso furniture and a magenta, gold and amethyst palette.

In this home, the formal living and dining rooms flank the two-story foyer, while the stairway with wrought-iron spindles is straight ahead.

In the living room, shelf units accessorized with art, urns, books and pictures are the focus, while two sofas and a chair can accommodate guests.

A colorful table can seat eight, while the china cabinet is placed against a magenta wall that displays a collection of mirrors.

The heart of the home is the spacious family room with volume ceiling. The fireplace sits against a red wall and features a plasma TV above with windows on either side. An area rug adds texture.

The kitchen features dark wood cabinets and countertops with stainless steel appliances, center island and breakfast bar. A planning desk sits in the breakfast room where a table overlooks the outdoors.

In the rear of the home, a private study features contemporary paintings and a wall of built-ins.

Upstairs, the master bedroom suite has a tray ceiling, his-and-hers walk-in closets, sofa, entertainment center and colorful draperies.

The luxury bath has a double-bowl vanity, corner soaking tub and separate shower.

A full bath serves three secondary bedrooms that include a guest room with a cycling theme, a Garfield the cat motif and an oversized bedroom with a dollhouse theme that has twin beds and a walk-in closet.

A whole wall of cubbies offers a place to display favorite toys and dolls.
