Acron Theatre to present 'Nutcracker'

With a cast of 30, Acorn Community Theatre is kicking off the "Nutcracker" holiday season with its production of "The Story of the Nutcracker."

The show opens this week with performances at 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday, as well as 7 p.m. Nov. 9-10 and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Warrenville Community Center, 3S260 Warren Ave., Warrenville.

"The 90-minute play is a unique story version with some ballet sequences," said director Bethany Gates. "The cast is a lot of families from DuPage with parents and siblings."

This production is based on a play by Michele L. Vacca. The group has been rehearsing since the end of August, and Gates said they've had a lot of Christmas in September getting ready for the performance.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 17 and younger. For details or tickets, call (630) 393-7279.
