Siberian Husky Club plans monthly meetings
The Siberian Husky Club of Greater Chicago will hold its next meeting at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Slowinski East Room, Floor 1 if the Village of Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Correction Clinic: Rand Park Dog Training Club's next Correction Clinic will be Nov. 10 at For Your Canine, 4233 United Parkway, Schiller Park. Judging begins at 11:30 a.m. with no walk-ins after 1 p.m. Pre-entry fee is $7 plus $6 for second entry of the same dog. Gate entry is $8 plus $7. Trials and Tracking: Car-Dun-Al Obedience Dog Training Club will hold Obedience and Rally Trials Nov. 10 at Kane County Fairgrounds, Lincoln Hwy. (Route 38), St. Charles. Trial secretary is Jean Munger of Hampshire.
• Fox Valley Dog Training Club will be at the same site Nov. 11 in St. Charles with the same menu. Trial secretary is Taffy Wille of Elburn.
• The German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago will hold Variable Surface Tracking the morning of Nov. 11 on the DuPage Government Center grounds, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton. Trial secretary is Bill Childers of Carol Stream.
New classes: Alex Brooks Midwest Canine Center, 1300 E. Rand Road, Des Plaines, will hold a Basic Obedience class 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday to Dec. 14. There is also a Distraction Class held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday This is a drop-in class. To attend, the dog must know basic obedience heel, sit, down, stay and come. The regular Basic Obedience class requires registration, so call (847) 299-DOGS(3647).
• Leash and Collar Dog Training has new Puppy classes at 6:30 p.m. and Basic Obedience classes at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 7 and again Dec. 10. An Advanced Obedience class, which includes the Canine Good Citizen course, will start at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 10. Every Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. there is a drop-in Novice class for AKC competitors and post Advanced class. Call (847) 945-4544.
Shih Tzu meeting: The Chicagoland Shih Tzu Club will meet at 8 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Arlington Heights Public Library, 500 N. Dunton (at Euclid). Entry deadline: Lincolnwood Training Club for German Shepherd Dogs has set Nov. 15 as the deadline to enter its Tracking and Tracking Tests Excellent held Nov. 25 at Burnidge Forest Preserve and Paul Wolff Campgrounds, Elgin. Entry fee for Tracking is $50 and $90 for TDX. Entries plus checks payable to the club should be sent to Judy Braginsky, Trial Secretary, 5323 Davis St., Skokie, IL 60077-1536.
