Prospect Knights thrilled us all

Prospect Knights thrilled us all

To the editor: Congratulations to the Prospect Marching Knights on their highly successful 2007 competition season. The band excelled locally, winning the Lake Park Lancer Joust; statewide, in winning the Governor's Trophy and being named Grand Champions at the University of Illinois Band Festival; and nationally, by placing second at the Bands of America Super Regional Marching Band Competition in St. Louis.

The hard work of the approximate 200 members, the commitment of their director (Chris Barnum) and advisers, and the support of parents through the band booster club is notable.

The foundation for their success was established in Arlington Heights District 25 and Mount Prospect District 57, where band members first learned their musical skills. Their honors demonstrate the value our public schools add to the fabric of our community, making it such a great place to live.

Way to go PMK!
