Sports Hub to host its Funfest on Sunday

Halloween lovers can deck out in their costumes twice this year.

The Glendale Heights Sports Hub, 250 Civic Center Plaza, will host its 12th Annual Halloween Fun Fest from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, where parents and kids can enjoy games, food, music and prizes.

"This is just for the parents that don't want their kids to go out trick-or-treating at all. We provide something that's safe for them," program supervisor Suzette Tomaselli said.

Organizers every year make sure the environment is a bit on the spooky side.

"It's a little scary, but we try not to make it too scary," Tomaselli said.

Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and, after playing the games, will win prizes such as stickers, bracelets, little toys and, of course, candy.

"They all get a little prize," Tomaselli said. "The better you are, the better the prize, but everybody leaves with prizes and bags."
