Des Plaines Garden Club: The Des Plaines Garden Club's annual "Holiday Happenings" fundraiser: 11 a.m. Nov. 1; Manzo's Banquets, 1517 S. Elmhurst Road, Des Plaines. Raffles, bakery and crafts, and a family-style luncheon at noon. Paul Selis from Busse Flowers will create floral arrangements for all around the house at 1:30 p.m. $28, reservations required. Wine Downtown 2007: Chicago Area Sjogren's Walkabout fundraiser: Today; Vino100, 110 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect. Vino100 will donate 10 percent of profits today to The Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation to support research and educational programs. Heidi at (630) 279-9437.

"Buddy Daze": The Buddy Foundation's "Buddy Daze": 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; Advantage Chrysler/Jeep, Des Plaines. Wanda the Witch photos, music, food, games, prizes, come in costume.

Soles4Souls Inc., shoe drive: The Women's Fellowship of St. Peter Community Church is sponsoring a shoe drive for Soles4Souls Inc. through Oct. 31. Men's women's and children's new and lightly worn shoes and boots can be dropped off at the church, 2700 Willow Road, Northbrook, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
