Allstate Insurance promoted Alice Byrne to field vice president for its Midwest region. Byrne, who will transfer to the Midwest regional office in Buffalo Grove, most recently served as assistant field vice president for Allstate's North Central region in Farmington Hills, Mich. She replaces Denis Bailey, who becomes field vice president for Allstate's Southwest region based in Phoenix. Byrne is also a member with PM&L Theatre, a nonprofit community-based organization in Antioch, as a performer and choreographer.

Proactive Worldwide Inc. in Rolling Meadows announced Jeffrey Werfel joined the firm as a senior consultant in its technology services practice. Werfel, who previously served as an insurance and financial services provider with State Farm Insurance, also serves as an elected village board member in Grayslake and sits on the board of directors of the Liberty Prairie Conservancy.

Family Home Health and Family Centered Hospice Services Inc., Addison, appointed Sandra Cashman of Fox River Grove director of hospice. Cashman becomes responsible for program growth, operations, business profitability, oversight of clinical staff and the delivery of high quality patient care. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in business administration.

Patrick Schwager joined Great Rooms Designers & Builders Inc., a Libertyville-based remodeling and custom home design/build company, as a senior project manager. Schwager, of Wonder Lake, has extensive project management experience in both residential and commercial construction. He previously managed cabinet instillation for a North Shore custom home builder and owned and operated a construction management company.
