Briefs: Chamber plans new event

The Warrenville Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a new event, Gifts Galore & More Expo, for Warrenville businesses from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Courtyard Banquets, 3S200 Route 59, Warrenville. Volunteers needed:

The Wood Dale Park District needs volunteers, ages eighth grade or older, to assist in every aspect of the Oct. 27 Halloween Scare Walk at the Cabin Nature Center, 111 S. Wood Dale Road. All volunteers should sign up at the park district and attend a volunteer meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the nature center. For details, call (630)595-9333.

Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser:

Bop for Breath at the Beach, a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at North Beach Club, 1211 Butterfield Road, in Downers Grove. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door and include open bar, appetizers, sand volleyball, dancing, bowling and a prize raffle.
