New talking points don't change facts
In his recent letter, Emilio Marcos pulled out some of the administration's new talking points about the war in Iraq. Complain about Hollywood, the liberal main stream media and liberal politicians as being defeatist.
Marcos should look at the fiasco in Iraq that he and the neo-conservative Republicans keep trying to pass off as necessary. The security of the United States was never in danger, and is not in danger now. Even in his recent speech, Gen. David Petraeus never talked about the security of the U.S. being in jeopardy; he talked about creating a stable Iraq.
9/11 and those terrorists were never connected to Saddam Hussein or Iraq, despite recent comments by Vice President Dick Cheney and an ad campaign by Freedom's Watch. There are significantly more terrorists intent on harming the U.S. outside of Iraq than in Iraq.
The Pentagon and every military leader have admitted there will never be a military solution in Iraq, only a political one. In other words, a war there cannot be won.
If right-winged zealots would quit lying to the people of the United States, they might have a chance in the next elections. Until then, any politician who supports the policies of this president is DOA.
