DiGrazia, O'Connor start well at state

Driscoll junior Gigi DiGrazia sits in fourth place individually after the first day of the Class A girls state golf tournament at Stone Creek Golf Course in Makanda.

DiGrazia shot a 76, 4 strokes behind co-leaders Jaclyn Jansen of Effingham St. Anthony an d Katie Jean of St. Thomas More in Champaign.

In the Class AA tournament at Hickory Ridge Public Golf Center in Carbondale, WW South junior Molly O'Connor is in third place with a 72, 6 strokes behind leader Hailey Koschmann of Lake Forest.

Hinsdale Central is fifth in the team standings with a 326, trailing Normal University High by 24 strokes.

Neuqua Valley junior Hannah Buck is 20th with a 78.

Amanda Bruski, a Naperville North senior is 33rd with an 80.
