Aurora man charged in shooting at party

A 30-year-old Aurora man is facing attempted murder charges after a weekend shooting in Warrenville that left three people injured.

Ignacio C. Rosario, of 534 Hoyles Ave., has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, authorities announced Monday.

Rosario was arrested early Saturday after a shooting that happened about 3 a.m. near Prairie Avenue and Patterman Road.

Warrenville Police Chief Raymond Turano said the shooting occurred during a party in the Thornwilde subdivision.

Rosario attended the party as a guest with a female juvenile. Turano said investigators still are piecing together how many people attended the party and how the shooting started.

"We're thinking some type of argument (led to the shooting), but our investigators are still following up on other items of interest," Turano said.

Turano wouldn't identify the youth Rosario brought to the party or the three people who were shot.

Police said shots were fired both inside and outside the house.

The three gunshot victims were taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Police didn't know their conditions but said the injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening.

Officers found Rosario near the scene, authorities said.

Rosario was being held Monday in the DuPage County jail on $2 million bond.
