Briefs: Des Plaines robber sought

Police are looking for a man after an armed robbery at a Des Plaines restaurant Friday night. An unidentified man went to Taco Bell, 945 S. Elmhurst Road around 6:35 p.m. and displayed a sliver handgun and demanded money from the register, police said. The man, described as about 30 years old with a thin face, bushy eyebrows, short brownish hair, goatee, weighing about 170 lbs., about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and wearing a black New York Yankees hat, fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Man charged with battery:

A Des Plaines man is charged with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated unlawful restraint in an attack on a woman, police said. A judge set no bond for Patrick J. Worley, 24, of the 500 block of Vassar Lane, in the Tuesday night attack, police said. He was arrested in Chicago after fleeing the Des Plaines home. Worley is accused of gagging a 23-year-old woman, restraining her arms and putting a blanket over her head. She kicked out a window during the struggle to distract Worley, and then she fled to the kitchen, where her children were, police said. But Worley dragged her to the bathroom, where he bludgeoned her with a handgun and threatened to kill her until she fought him off and ran from the home, police said. Worley's next court date is Oct. 22 in Skokie.
