McHenry County Conservation District notes

McHenry County College will offer a new non-credit interior decorating course, "Interior Design: Help Your Home," from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Decorator Nook, 64 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake.

Class participants will explore color, window treatment options and more creative ideas to beautify a home. Using their own floor plans, participants will discover how to make the most of their living space.

The instructor is Barbara Potter, licensed interior decorator and owner of the Decorator Nook. She will give information on how to deal with problem areas and decorating challenges.

Potter has previously designed homes on the Chicago Tribune Parade of Homes, as well as the Service League Parade of Homes. A pictorial feature of her design work on a Crystal Lake home will appear in Home to Home magazine in October.
