Northbrook-based Pine Tree Commercial Realty appointed Robert Gordon vice president of design and construction. Gordon, who has 30 years of retail design, construction and development experience, previously served as construction director for Dominick's Finer Foods. Additionally, Mike Lopata was named senior project manager at Pine Tree Construction Services LLC. Lopata, a 30-year veteran of the real estate development and construction industry, served previously as a senior project manager for Pepper Construction Co.

Janice Novick and Robyn Black, both of Schaumburg, have become independent consultants with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct-sales company featuring easy to prepare gourmet products.

John Owings, vice president of finance for Nortel Networks, has joined the board of directors of ISO International Inc., a provider of radio-frequency management and interference-control systems for the wireless telecommunications industry.

Rosemont-based MB Financial Bank named Brian Weadock of Chicago assistant vice president, lease banking.

Lime Energy Co., Elk Grove Village, an energy efficiency technology and engineering company, announced the addition of Dave Laybourn as director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Lime Energy, Laybourn served as new product development manager at Rain Bird Landscape Drip, a manufacturer and provider of irrigation products and services.

Elk Grove Village-based United Airlines named Grace Puma senior vice president, strategic sourcing, and chief procurement officer.

Thomas D. Poulos was promoted to principal in Thornton Tomasetti Inc.'s Chicago office. Poulos, who continues to hold the title of vie president, has 20 years of structural engineering experience and a diverse background in all types of structures, including those requiring design-build delivery.

Jessica Feltner of Chicago joined Des Plaines Office Equipment, Elk Grove Village, as an account executive. Feltner becomes responsible for identifying new sales opportunities in the Chicago Loop and proposing document management solutions to assist client companies in cutting costs and improving productivity and document quality.

Schaumburg resident Miguel Arias joined Chicago North Financial Group, an office of MetLife in Itasca, as a financial services representative. A Northern Illinois University graduate, Arias completed the Series 6 exam administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, which qualifies him to sell mutual funds and variable annuities in addition to a complete line of life and health insurance products.
