Briefs: Wheaton schools plan reunions
Wheaton Warrenville South High School Class of 1977 will hold its homecoming reunion for its class and the classes of 1975-79 the weekend of Sept. 28-30. The event includes the game at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 followed by a mixer at 9:30 p.m.; Saturday's events include a golf scramble or school tour at 10 a.m., and a reception from 7 to 11 p.m.; Sunday brunch is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets for the reception are $50 by Sept. 13. • Wheaton North High School's four original classes of '67-'70 are planning a Reunion Palooza Sept. 28-30 with events in the Wheaton area. Events begin with the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. Friday and a fish fry at the Wheaton VFW at 8 p.m. Saturday's events include a school tour, lunch, tennis and a reunion party at 7:30 p.m. at The Band Restaurant. Bridge Communities seeking cars
Bridge Communities in Glen Ellyn is seeking donations of cars to help homeless families in transition to self-sufficiency in DuPage County. Cars will help clients commute to better paying jobs and to transport their children to school and child care. Donors will receive a tax deduction. Runners train in Glen Ellyn
The Glen Ellyn Runners offer a free 5K program for runners of all abilities at 7 a.m. Sundays at the Prairie Path Park adjacent to the Glen Ellyn train station, 468 N. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn. The program is in conjunction with the This Runs for Jack 5K planned Oct. 14 in downtown Glen Ellyn with proceeds benefiting melanoma cancer research.
