MCC offers aromatherapy class

Calling all women -- learn to preserve inner and outer beauty and peace with a one-day course that teaches skin care and relaxation techniques using aromatherapy.

The course will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29 the University Center of McHenry County College, Room 104, 100 S. Main St., Crystal Lake.

Essential oils, hydrolats and skin care will be used to help women venture through life from puberty through the "golden years," including pregnancy and menopause.

Participants will explore the main areas affecting how women feel and relate to those around them. Topics will include self-image, skin care, hormonal changes, disease and health problems.

This course will be taught by Lora Cantele, a registered aromatherapist and board certified instructor of the Penny Price Academy of Aromatherapy in England.

She will help participants understand different responses to different conditions relating to their age group, and how to best treat them using essential oils, hydrolats and carrier oils, and the methods on how to apply these items.

The $200 fee includes coffee and lunch.

This course is part of the Continuing Education curriculum of the Penny Price Academy of Aromatherapy. Participants will earn seven contact hours upon completion. This course may be taken as a general interest class for those with a solid basic knowledge of aromatherapy.
