Briefs: Mother files suit in crash
The mother of a 16-year-old Oak Park boy injured in a Nov. 6 crash with a Naperville man who died filed a lawsuit Wednesday in DuPage County. Tina Fuquay, on behalf of her son, Falan, is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from the estate of Michael Lambke. The 65-year-old Naperville man died in the crash he caused when driving into traffic on the wrong side of I-88 just west of I-294. The suit did not specify what type of injuries Falan sustained.

Lincoln-Way East placed second and won for best visual performance. Lincoln-Way Central High School placed third and won for best musical performance. Lake Park does not compete in its own event.
Winfield police sting
Winfield police announced Tuesday the arrest of a 29-year-old DeKalb man last week as part of a sex solicitation sting conducted by the Naperville and Winfield police departments, as well as the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Timothy Davis, of the 700 block of Fotis Drive, was arrested Friday in Winfield. He is accused of arranging to meet with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl, police said. He was charged with one count of indecent solicitation of a child and one count of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Davis is being held at the DuPage County jail on $250,000 bond. Police investigators confiscated several computers and computer equipment from his DeKalb home.
Run raises funds
Brothers Rory and Joe Cantu's finish times in the Chicago Half Marathon on Sept. 9 didn't break any records, but that wasn't why they were there. The two raised more than $1,000 for Western DuPage Special Recreation Association, where they both volunteer to help young people with disabilities. Rory, an information technology recruiter, first entered the half marathon last year because he wanted to get out of the office. This year, he decided to make it a fundraiser and recruited his brother, Joe, a special education teacher, to run along. "We finished. I think we're both happy with that," Rory said.
YMCA receives grant
Heritage Group YMCA has received nearly a $11,00 grant from JCPenney Afterschool Fund. The money will help young people who cannot afford to participate in an after school program or who are at risk of having to leave a program because of lack of funds. J.C. Penney also will provide 19 gift cards to assist with the purchase of school clothing and supplies. Heritage YMCA serves Naperville, Aurora and Oswego.
