Palatine Jaycees haunted house: The Palatine Jaycees are seeking volunteers to help in the building and haunting of its annual haunted house. This years, the house will be located in the Sears Essentials lot at Northwest Highway and Hicks Road, Palatine. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age or have parents consent. Party Over Palatine VI: The Rotary Club of Palatine will host Party Over Palatine VI, a fundraiser, from 6 to 10 p.m. today, at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. Enjoy live entertainment by Old School, heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, raffles, live and silent auctions. American Society for Quality: The American Society for Quality Northeastern Illinois Section will meet Thursday, at the Arboretum Club, 401 W. Half Day Road, Buffalo Grove. Northwest Chapter of Lyric Opera of Chicago: At 3 p.m. Sunday the Northwest Chapter of Lyric Opera of Chicago will inaugurate its 2007-08 season, at the home of a member, when Jesse Gram, of the Lyric Opera's education department presents a overall view of the Lyric's productions.
