A fair to learn about volunteer opportunities throughout the Fox Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Representatives of organizations from Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Elburn, South Elgin, West Chicago and Aurora invite visitors to come to their booths so they can explain what they do and how citizens can get involved. Boy Scout golf outing
A golf outing Sept. 24 will benefit Boy Scout programs for at-risk and special needs youths in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties. The Scoutreach Classic starts at 12:30 p.m. at Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd, Geneva. Tickets are $300 a golfer or $1,000 a foursome. The 18-hole tournament includes lunch, dinner, beverages, contests and prizes. Proceeds go to programs offered by the Boy Scouts of America Three Fires Council based in St. Charles.
