Better with age
Despite his 68 years of experience, Chuck Christensen of Addison said he feels like a kid playing his steel guitar, a retirement present he bought 13 years ago.
Christensen was one of 48 performers who competed in the second annual "Senior Idol" at the Senior Lifestyle Expo Sept. 5 and 6 at Drury Lane Theatre and Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace.
The company he keeps helps that feeling.
"I play with a group of old guys called the Bunkhouse Boys -- all World War II veterans in their 80s," Christensen said. "I get to wear a cowboy hat and they call me the kid."
