• The Lombard Flames will hold tryouts for the U-14 team from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Tryouts for the U-18 team will be from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 16. Both will be held at Schafer School on Pleasant Lane, east of Grace Street, Lombard.

• The DuPage Diamond Dawgs girls fastpitch softball organization is looking to add a few players to both its U-12 and U-14 teams for the 2008 season. The Dawgs are based in Carol Stream.

Tryouts for the U-10, U-12 and U-14 teams will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tryouts for the U-11 and U-13 teams will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Coast to Coast Baseball will host an open tryout for players from around Illinois at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Max McCook indoor facility in McCook.

The purpose of the event is to select players ages 11-12, 13-15 and 16-18 to represent the U.S. in international competition in Puerto Rico, Australia, Europe and Hawaii.

• The Bloomingdale Youth Basketball Association is holding travel basketball tryouts in September at the Johnston Recreation Center, 172 S. Circle Ave. in Bloomingdale.

Tryouts for fourth-grade boys, fourth-grade girls, fifth-grade boys and fifth-grade girls will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. Thursday.

Tryouts for sixth-grade boys and seventh-grade boys will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Tryouts for sixth-grade girls and seventh-grade girls will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Tryouts for eighth-grade boys will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14. Tryouts for eighth-grade girls will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
