Obedience Fun Match coming up in Cary

Flea market/bake sale: Four Paws Animal Foundation will have a combination Flea Market/Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9 at Banbury Fair, 211 Railroad Ave., Bartlett. For information or if you have donations, call Arleen at (630) 289-0478.

Tracking Tests: Fox Valley Dog Training Club will hold Tracking Tests and Tracking Tests Excellent (TDX) Sept. 9 at Burnidge Forest Preserve and Paul Wolff Campgrounds on Big Timber and Coombs roads in Elgin. Test secretary is Ingrid Hamburger of St. Charles. These start early (before breakfast), so be there early if you want to see it all.

TDX entry deadline: Rand Park Dog Training Club's entry deadline is Sept. 13 for the Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX) tests to be held Sept. 23 at Green Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville. The entry fee is $85. The entry form and check, made payable to the club, should be sent to Sheryl Phelps, Trial Secretary, 2533 Harvey Ave., Berwyn, IL 60402-2613.

Correction Clinic: Rand Park Dog Training Club's next Correction Clinic will be held Sept. 15 at For Your Canine, 4233 United Parkway, Schiller Park. Judging begins at 11:30 a.m., and no walk-ins will be accepted after 1 p.m. Pre-entry fee is $7 plus $6 for a second entry of the same dog. Gate entry is $8 plus $7. Mail pre-entries, with checks made payable to the club, to Jean Eremo, 2511 N 79th Ave., Elmwood Park, IL 60707. All classes are limited to 30 entries. Call (708) 453-5128 for information.

"Woofstock": Tails of Hope 5th Annual Walk-a-thon "Woofstock" start, at 1 p.m. Sept. 16 at Old School Forest Preserve's Shelter C on St. Mary's Road, south of Route 176 and north of Route 60, in Libertyville. You are welcome to participate with or without a dog. To be eligible for prizes, pledge money and registration fees must be received by Sept. 13. Pre-registration is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. They can be mailed to Tails of Hope, P.O. Box 7554, Gurnee, IL 60031 or dropped off at Luv Your Pets Boutique in Hawthorn Mall, Vernon Hills. For information, including the brochure on pledge levels and prizes, call (847) 549-1711 or (847) 557-9554. All proceeds will benefit the dogs and cats rescued by Tails of Hope.

Sam-O-Rama Picnic: NISA's 2007 Sam-O-Rama Picnic will be held Sept. 16 at Busse Woods Ned Brown Forest Preserve's Grove 3, Elk Grove Village.
