Lac des Illinois Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames: The Lac des Illinois Chapter, National Society Colonial Dames, XVII Century, will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Long Grove Chocolate Factory, with a luncheon and meeting following at noon in the Long Grove Cafe. Model T Ford Club of America: The Model T Ford Club of America will host the Western National Hillbilly Tour from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday through Sept. 8, at the Hawthorn Park Hotel, in Springfield, Ill. Joe Lessman Division of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society: A meeting of the Joe Lessman Division of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Oakton Community Center, 4701 Oakton St., Skokie. New Beginnings: The Ministry of New Beginnings, part of the Phoenix Group, is a 30-year old Catholic oriented non-denominational social support organization for the separated, divorced, widowed and single persons. Meetings are held every Monday (except holidays) at 7:30 p.m. in the lower level of Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 Rush St., Roselle. Donation is $3 per meeting. September events include:

•Schaumburg Fest fireworks: 7 p.m. Saturday, yard of Carol Galat. R.S.V.P. to Carol at (847) 524-1397. Bring a chair, a snack to share and your favorite beverage.

•Labor Day picnic: 11 a.m., Monday, Tyler Creek Forest Preserve, Route 31, south of I90 in Elgin. The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, buns and condiments, bring a dish to share, along with your own beverage. No charge if you bring a dish. $5 if you do not. Rain or shine.

•Board Meeting: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Club Room at St. Hubert's Church. Everyone is invited, bring your ideas.

Four Seasons Garden Club: Laura Anderson of St. Charles will present "The history of bees and different styles of hives" when the Four Seasons Garden Club meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the home of a member. Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Judea: The Sisterhood's first social program of the year will be painting ceramics at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, at ArtWerks, 445 Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove. The cost is $10 per person, covers the cost of the kiln. Individual pieces range in price, with the average price around $15. Space is limited, reservations are required. Democratic Party conference: The Wheeling, Palatine, New Trier and Northfield Township Democrats will host a Democratic Party conference on Grassroots Democracy and Winning Elections at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 8 at Chevy Chase Country Club, 1000 N. Wheeling Garden Club: The Wheeling Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 12, at the Wheeling Masonic Lodge, Dundee Road and Milwaukee Avenue, Wheeling. Greg Bartoshuk, master gardener and landscape designer, will be the guest speaker. Bartoshuk will help put your garden on "automatic pilot" and help you enjoy a garden full of color all year, without much work. The Wheeling Garden Club meets at 7 p.m., on the second Wednesday of the month at the Masonic Lodge from March through December. Meeting are open to the public. "Les Bavards du Nord":ŒThe monthly francophone lunch group will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 15, for lunch and conservation in French at a Buffalo Grove restaurant.
