Grayslake

•David Hungness, 17, 2284 Masters Lane, Round Lake Beach, and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested Aug. 10 and charged with possession of a controlled substance after an officer found them with Tylenol with codeine on the 1900 block of North Route 83, police said. The juvenile also was charged with possession with intent to deliver, reports said. Their Waukegan court date was set for Aug. 31.

Gurnee

•Ricardo Calderon, 24, 2626 Jacquelyn Lane, Waukegan, and Ruben Paz, 32, 2611 Sycamore Drive, Waukegan, were arrested around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 16 after an officer stopped their car for traffic violations at Kilbourne Road and North Route 41, police said. Calderon was cited on traffic violations; Paz was charged with possession of a controlled substance, reports said. Court dates were not available.

•A male employee at Max and Erma's, 6420 Route 132, was suspected of stealing from the restaurant by taking cash payments from customers, keeping the money and using customers' credit cards to pay the restaurant bills, police said. An investigation continues.

Hawthorn Woods

•Thieves cut two cable locks and stole two generators between noon Aug. 10 and 7 a.m. Aug. 11 from a building under construction on the 21700 block of West Route 176, police said. One generator was old and a value estimate was not available; the second generator was new and valued at $1,342.

Lake Villa

•Vandals smashed a driver's-side window between 9 and 10 p.m. Aug. 18 on a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo parked in a driveway on the 36900 block of Corona Drive, police said. Damage was estimated at $200.

Lake Zurich

•Thieves stole two potted plants overnight Aug. 16-17 at a home on the 1000 block of Brittany Road, police said. Value was estimated at $40.

Libertyville

•Barton T. Ryder, 17, 610 Nordic Court, Libertyville; Thomas J. Rowland IV, 17, 1431 Stevenson Drive, Libertyville; and Logan F. Miller, 18, 1031 Fairlawn Ave., Libertyville, were arrested around 8:40 p.m. Aug. 19 after officers were called to a disturbance in a restaurant parking lot at 1330 N. Milwaukee Ave., police said. Ryder and Rowland were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and attempted possession of marijuana with intent to deliver; Ryder also was charged with local ordinance minor in possession of tobacco, reports said. Miller was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, reports added. Their Waukegan court date was set for Sept. 12.

Round Lake

•Roberto Velazquez-Rangel, 34, 1227 N. Channel Drive, Round Lake Beach, was arrested around 1:20 p.m. Aug. 10 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer stopped his car for traffic violations at Haywood and Hart and found a drug pipe in the car, police said. His Round Lake Beach court date was set for Sept. 18.

Round Lake Beach

•Kevin P. Bryant, 39, 163 E. Shorewood, Round Lake Beach, was arrested around 6:55 p.m. Aug. 11 and charged with aggravated assault after he threatened a woman and her children with a knife while intoxicated, police said. A court date was not available.

Vernon Hills

•Brianna L. Frederick, 20, 2544 81st St., Kenosha, Wis., was arrested Aug. 13 and charged with aggravated assault after security agents at Macy's in Westfield Hawthorn saw her take merchandise valued at $314 and leave without paying, police said. According to reports, she backed out of the parking lot, almost striking the agents. Her Waukegan court date was set for Sept. 3.

Wauconda

•Thieves stole money Aug. 17 out of an employee's purse at Wauconda Middle School, 215 Slocum Lake Road, police said. A value estimate was not available.
