Hospice center offers variety of groups to deal with death of loved one
The Center for Loss and Hope at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois offers numerous groups to help those dealing with the death of a loved one.
Time-limited groups have six sessions focusing on specific topics. Registration is required to attend these groups.
Open grief groups also are available for those individuals who do not wish to participate in a weekly group. Registration for these groups is not required.
All groups are non-denominational and led by professionally trained facilitators.
•Time-Limited Groups: Loss of a Spouse/Partner are held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Fridays, Sept. 28-Nov. 2, at Lake Barrington Woods, 22320 Classic Court, Lake Barrington.
•Adult Loss of a Parent is held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 2-Nov. 6, at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 South Hager Ave., Barrington.
•Open Groups' Mourning to Meaning is held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. the first and third Monday at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Crystal Lake workstation, 390 E. Congress Parkway, Suite E in Crystal Lake.
•Grief to Hope is held in collaboration with Catholic Charities from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road in Arlington Heights.
If meetings fall on a holiday, the groups will meet the following week.
