Duda gives Bison a draw

Joe Duda's second-half goal off Brian Olson's assist deadlocked Buffalo Grove at 1-1 with host Downers Grove North in boys soccer Tuesday. Mike McEvoy made 3 saves for BG (1-0-1).

St. Viator 2, Stevenson 1: Goals from Chris Nadro and Victor Mendoza gave the host Lions a nonconference win against Stevenson. Jonathan Harris collected 4 saves for St. Viator (2-0-1).

Boys golf

Ryan O'Connell and Mike Villardita shot 41s to lead Maine West to a 167-192 win over Maine East at par-35 Chick Evans.

•Prospect edged Wheeling 159-166 in an MSL East contest. Prospect's Mike Braunsrueter and Wheeling's Kevin Taylor both turned in 39s.

•Buffalo Grove (160) won its MSL East triangular over Rolling Meadows (162) and Elk Grove (177). Ryan Suhadolnick led the way for the Bison with his 37.

•John McIlree shot a 37 to lead Hersey to a 153-180 win over Schaumburg. Steve Saldarola led the Saxons with a 39.

Girls golf

Some great rounds by medalist Michelle Braun (36) and Chelsea Kellogg (38) contributed to Maine West's strong 170, but it wasn't enough to get past Highland Park's 154 in the Central Suburban North.

•Prospect lost to New Trier (2-0) 168-176 in nonconference play. Medalist Marietta Smith shot a 38 for the Knights (401).

•McCall Barsamian shot a 42 to lead Barrington (184) a Mid-Suburban West triangular win over Palatine (200) and Hoffman Estates (223).

•Claudia Schwan shot a 43 for Fremd in a 188-182 loss to St. Charles North. Brooke Bettis led the North Stars with a 40.

•St. Viator's Kaela Klune carded 42 to lead the Lions to a 188-249 win at Schaumburg.

Girls swimming

Nicole Gill won the 200-yard IM (2:23.43) and 100 free (58.34) and Meredith Wellhausen the 200 free (2:10.04) and Butterfly (1:05.76) to lead Hersey to a 117-59 win over Maine West. Patricia Nowak swam 1:11.03 to win the breaststroke and set a school record for the host Warriors.

•St. Viator's Nikki Holladay took firsts in the butterfly (1:03.20) and backstroke (1:02.12) in the host Lions 62-28 win over Bartlett.
