Gurnee

•Burglars damaged the front driver's-side door and stole $50 around 10 p.m. Aug. 15 out of a 1998 Ford parked at Adventure Inn, 3732 Route 132, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

•Burglars smashed a front door window overnight Aug. 17-18 at Business Storage, 1101 Estes St., police said. It was not clear if anything was missing, reports stated. Damage was estimated at $500.

Hawthorn Woods

•Jason D. Gitlin, 18, 3459 W. Marden Drive, Long Grove, was arrested around 12:01 a.m. Aug. 11 and charged with possession of marijuana after an officer saw his 1994 Jeep parked on the side of Old McHenry Road, west of Fox Hunt Trail with hazard lights flashing, police said. The officer found a small bag of marijuana on the ground next to the rear passenger's-side tire of the Jeep, where Gitlin had been standing, and he admitted that the drug belonged to him, reports stated. His Waukegan court date was set for Sept. 12.

Lake Villa

•Vandals smashed the front passenger's-side window between 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 16 on a 2004 Lincoln SUV parked at a home on the 37200 block of Hillside Drive, police said. Damage was estimated at $200.

Lake Zurich

•Thieves stole a red 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt between 4:30 and 11:30 p.m. Aug. 16 parked in a lot on the 600 block of South Rand Road, police said. Value was estimated at $15,330.

Round Lake Beach

•Burglars stole a purse overnight Aug. 9-10 out of a locked vehicle parked at a home on the 1500 block of Chestnut, police said. A value estimate was not available.

Volo

•Thieves stole an air conditioner overnight Aug. 21-22 from a Cambridge Homes house on the 700 block of Beethoven Street, police said. Value was estimated at $2,000.

Wauconda

•Burglars broke into two trailers Aug. 16 at Hedgepath Landscaping, 1207 Garland Road, police said. A value estimate was not available.
