Man charged in assault of woman in Island Lake
Island Lake police arrested a 38-year-old man Saturday on charges he sexually assaulted and beat a female acquaintance inside his home.
Wayne E. Noska appeared in court Monday morning facing felony charges of criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint, as well as a pair of misdemeanors stemming from the allegations.
Police arrested Noska at his home, authorities said, after a neighbor called to report seeing him and the 27-year-old woman struggling in the driveway.
The charges claim Noska sexually assaulted the woman, choked her and slammed her head on a floor inside the home, Nichole Owens, criminal chief of the McHenry County state's attorney's office, said Monday.
Noska, who is free after posting a $6,500 bond Monday, is scheduled to return to court Sept. 4. The most serious charge against him is a Class 1 felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
