Mothers & More of McHenry County invites you to attend a program that will help you prepare for work force re-entry or a change in your career.
The program will feature resume development with a focus on gaps in employment. Bring your resume -- you can get help refining the resume in a workshop format following the presentation.
You'll learn interviewing do's and don'ts, what to do after the interview beyond the thank you note, learn to sell yourself by using marketing strategies and personal examples, hear common employer questions with a focus on returning to the work force and appropriate ways to answer tough questions, find out questions you should ask employers and get job search strategies.

Experts in the resume and staffing industry will lead the discussion. Liz Handlin is the CEO of Ultimate Resumes and Tony Martorano is the co-founder and CEO of BroadPeak Collaborative.
Handlin has nearly 20 years experience in marketing, communications and recruiting. She held previous positions with The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Deloitte & Touche LLP, NetSpend Corporation, and APV plc. She was honored by Microsoft Corporation and has been interviewed for and quoted in numerous articles in publications that include: The Economist, The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times and American Banker.
Using her recruiting and marketing background, Handlin launched Ultimate Resumes (www.ultimate-resumes.com) in June 2004. Since that time she has helped hundreds of clients to create resumes that have opened the doors to wonderful new jobs. Her passion is helping clients find and land the jobs of their dreams.
Martorano has more than 17 years experience as a CPA, consultant, practice leader and recruiter. He was responsible for starting Chicago offices for two large organizations, Norrell Financial Staffing and Deloitte & Touche, where he recruited, hired and trained staff and developed and managed client relationships. As he and his team grew, he was promoted to Managing Director of the Midwest Region and National Director of Strategic Accounts of an international professional services firm. Martorano is a dynamic speaker who is frequently requested by business audiences. He has been recognized for his expertise in financial matters and quoted in local and national print media including the Chicago Tribune and the Wall Street Journal.
Martorano co-founded and became the CEO/CFO of BroadPeak Collaborative, a professional services firm based in Chicago, (www.broadpeak.us) in October 2004. His interest in helping women return to the work force is evidenced by BroadPeak Collaborative's position as an employer of choice for women returning to work.
