Last year: Addison Trail 23, Wheaton North 9.

Outlook: These teams have traded season-opening jabs for years, and tonight should be another good round. Addison Trail graduated the bulk of last year's West Suburban Gold title team, although do-it-all senior Vince Beachem is back to cause fits as a cornerback, running back and kick returner. The Blazers, though, need to come through in the trenches. While they're relatively inexperienced up front, the Falcons return key elements on both lines. Nick Adamle, a 295-pound Northwestern recruit, and 240-pound Kevin Whitt, who verbally committed to Air Force, are ready to plow holes for talented junior running back Mike Trumpy. Addison Trail's Joe DuFour will be crucial on both lines.
