Various properties on auction block

Westar Properties, Inc., an Oak Brook-based real estate auction marketing firm, will sell eight single-family homes and one condominium at auction on Aug. 29. The properties are located in Arlington Heights, Chicago, Mount Prospect, Niles, Riverwoods, Wadsworth and West Chicago. The auction will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Gateway Suites, 6501 N. Mannheim Road in Rosemont.

Properties in the auction include:

•Two new homes located at 705 and 709 S. McKinley in Arlington Heights. Custom-built, 3,000-square-foot single-family homes (to be sold individually) with four bedrooms, 3½ baths featuring numerous amenities, including designer kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, floor-to-ceiling brick fireplaces, hardwood floors, full basements (one finished) and two-car garages. Originally priced at $749,900 and $725,000 respectively, each house has an opening bid of $400,000. A certified or cashier's check in the amount of $16,000 for 705 S. McKinley or $15,000 for 709 S.
