ECC fine-art exhibits cover multiple media

Engaging, provocative works of fine arts students at Elgin Community College are on display in two independent study exhibitions in the E. Max vonIsser Gallery of Art and Safety-Kleen Gallery One. An artist's reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The exhibit includes photographs by Sharon Powell of Streamwood and Marty Owens of Elgin; digital images by Melissa Emory of Algonquin and Nancy Howe of Elgin; sculpture by Thida Schlueter of Lake in the Hills; printmaking by Erin Kelly Herner of Hanover Park, Brian Wadford of Bartlett, Ron Klawinski of Streamwood and Shaun Fitzpatrick of St. Charles; glass art by Amy Simpson and I.M. James, both of Elgin; drawing by Daniel Kosturik of St. Charles; ceramics by Cynthia Moore of Sleepy Hollow, Matthew Brej of Elgin, Daniel Wakolbinger of St. Charles and Elizabeth Schaefer of Elgin; and jewelry by Amy Sykes of Lilly Lake, Rickie Scott of Dundee Township and Victoria Bosanac of Carol Stream.

The exhibition will continue through Sept. 21 and includes hand-colored infrared photographs with collage by Dave Richardson of Elgin; digital photographs by Mary Zwirn of St. Charles, Scott Sundquist of Hampshire and Jack Sheils of Sleepy Hollow; printmaking by Brian Wadford of Bartlett, Saturno Ramos and Shaun Fitzpatrick, both of St. Charles; ceramics by Mario Ledesma of Gilberts and Gary Elfring and Daniel Wakolbinger, both of St, Charles; and drawing by Daniel Kosturik, St. Charles. The exhibit will continue through Oct. 7.

The E. Max vonIsser Gallery of Art is on the first floor of ECC's Student Resource Center. Gallery hours are 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Safety-Kleen Gallery One is located in ECC's Visual and Performing Arts Center on the first floor off the Renner Drive entrance. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
