Briefs: Westin Lombard marks 150th hotel

LOMBARD -- The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center opens at 11 a.m. today. It's the 150th Westin hotel worldwide. Officials also will hold a flag ceremony in which three flags will be raised to commemorate the opening. Westmont resident Jason Colle, Westin security manager and former U.S. Army infantry sergeant with the 82nd Airborne Division, will raise the American flag. Mount Prospect resident Diane Wnek, Westin director of human resources, will raise the Westin flag. The Lombard flag will be raised by Village President William Mueller.

Navistar wins Blue Sky Award

WARRENVILLE -- Navistar International Corp., a leading truck and engine producer, received the 2007 Blue Sky Award from WestStart-Calstart for its contributions to the commercial development of diesel-hybrid technology. This award is presented each year by WestStart-Calstart, a transportation technology organization.
