Briefs: Addison meetings go online

Addison village board and committee meetings, which have been broadcast live on Addison Community TV Channel 6 for more than 20 years, are now available to anyone with a broadband connection at www.addisonadvantage.org. The accompanying agenda also will be available. After the live meeting Webcasts, coverage will be archived so it can be viewed for at least a year, along with its agenda and minutes. Viewers also can choose to view portions of the meeting based on the agenda points. This new service is provided by Granicus, Inc. Addison contracted with the Internet company to make local access TV available to more than just cable subscribers. In addition to village meetings, some special ACTV programming will be available, such as "Addiscene," a local newsmagazine.
