Golf, tennis

• The 25th Annual College of DuPage Foundation Golf and Tennis outing will be July 30 at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville. All proceeds support student scholarships and the college's Hospitality Administration program.

Registration and the driving range is open at 9:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:15 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.

A tennis clinic conducted by COD head coach Jim Bowers will begin at 1 p.m., with doubles play at 2:30 p.m. Cocktails, dinner and an auction and raffle is set for 5:30 p.m.

This year's fee is $425 per golfer ($250 donation) or $1,700 ($1,000 donation) per foursome, and $250 ($150 donation) per person for tennis. A dinner-only option is $150 ($100 donation).

Hockey

• The Chiefs Hockey Club is looking for players, including goalies, at all levels. The club is a recreational youth hockey organization in Elmhurst with games and practices at Addison Ice Arena.

The winter season consists of 18 league games, more than 40 practices and a playoff tournament at the end of the season, which runs September through March.

The Chiefs are a "House Travel B" program and play in the Northwest Hockey League. The team plays games throughout the greater Chicago area. Hockey clinics will be offered during August.

Basketball

• The Bloomingdale Park District will host a basketball Hoopsters class for children ages 3 to 11 Thursday through Aug. 16.

Children will learn the basic fundamentals, including shooting, dribbling, passing and defense. No prior knowledge is needed. The height of the baskets and size of the basketballs are age-appropriate.

Baseball

• The DuPage Training Academy in Carol Stream is offering fall baseball leagues beginning in late August for players ages 8 to 16. Players do not need to have a team to register.

The program will include weekly practices and open cage time. Tryouts will be held in late July and early August. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 10 games, including eight regular season games and a single-elimination tournament.

• The Hitting Zone in Bartlett is accepting registration for its two-day elite baseball camp for pitchers and catchers, which will be Monday and Tuesday.

Limited to 12 players per session and led by professional instructors, the camp will cover mechanics for intermediate players (ages 9-11) and advanced players (ages 12-14) in separate sessions.

Players ages 12 to 14 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon and those ages 9 to 11 meet from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $100 per player.

Gymnastics

• The Bloomingdale Park District will hold its Munchkin Camp from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 6-10 at the Gymnastics Center at the Johnston Recreation Center, 172 S. Circle Ave. in Bloomingdale.

The camp is for girls ages 4 to 5 and has classes focusing on vault, bars, beam and floor exercises.

• The Bloomingdale Park District will host its Gold Gymnastics Camp from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 30 to Aug. 3 at the Johnston Recreation Center. Soccer

• The Marchionna All-Stars boys U-8 Cosmos travel soccer team has openings for additional players for the upcoming fall outdoor season.
