Poinsettia Balls

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/3 cup honey1 egg yolk1 1/2 teaspoons finely shredded orange peel4 teaspoons orange juice1 egg white, slightly beaten1 cup pecans, finely chopped1 container (16 ounces) red candied cherries, each cut in 6-8 petalsIn a medium bowl, whisk together flour, soda, salt and nutmeg.In separate bowl beat butter or margarine until softened. Beat in honey. Add egg yolk, orange peel and orange juice and beat well. Add flour mixture and beat until well combined. Cover and chill at least 3 hours or until easy to handle.Heat oven to 325 degrees.Shape cookies into 1-inch balls. Dip in egg white, roll in nuts. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Place 5 cherry petals on top of each ball and press lightly. Bake 15-18 minutes or until done. Remove and cool.Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.Nutrition values per cookie: 65 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated), 8 g carbohydrates, .5 g fiber, 1 g protein, 8 mg cholesterol, 48 mg sodium.
