Serafin Fund Honors Legacy, Empowers Futures

Rhonda Serafin empowered thousands of learners over the course of her more than three decades with High School District 214 Community Education, working diligently and tirelessly to improve the lives and educational opportunities for adults in our communities and providing entire families the promise of a brighter future.

In her honor, the District 214 Education Foundation in June announced the Serafin Fund for Adult Education and Family Literacy, dedicated to the continued enhancement of opportunities and services that have educated generations under her leadership. The fund will cover areas including Read to Learn and the Catherine M. Lee Women's and Children's Center, with an eye on providing additional resources and success to enthusiastic learners where the need is greatest.

The goal is to grow the fund to a point at which it can continue to educate District 214 families for perpetuity.

"Rhonda has been a visionary leader and enthusiastic champion of the mission to improve the life of every learner in District 214, and this fund continues that legacy," said Erin Brooks, executive director of the Education Foundation.
