Surgeon to answer questions on breast cancer

Dr. Daniel J. Farrugia, a fellowship-trained breast surgeon with Centegra Physician Care, will talk to community members about breast cancer from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 E. Congress Parkway.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. While some women have a genetic predisposition, most breast cancer is not caused by genetic factors. At "The Breast Cancer Answers You Need," Farrugia will discuss the newest research into the causes of breast cancer and how women can minimize their risk.

The talk is part of Healthy Doses, a series of free information sessions led by clinical experts from Centegra Health System on health care topics.
