Explore 'Grossology' with Elgin museum Jan. 12

Join the Elgin Public Museum for "Grossology: Family Science Night" from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the museum at 225 Grand Blvd. in Lords Park. The fee is $2 or free for museum members.

What is "Grossology"? Why it is the science of all things weird, gross and disgusting, of course!

It's slimy, gooey, stinky, smelly stuff explained in different stations set up around the museum during this drop-in program.

Adults and kids can conduct experiments, experience demonstrations and partake in discussions featuring "gag-rageous" science.

Register now for the monthly "Bison Feeding in Lords Park" from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27. The fee is $2, $1 for children or free for museum members.

Get an up-close and personal look at the bison, deer and elk at the Lords Park Zoo. Meet at the museum for a short introduction after which we head for the zoo to assist the zookeeper in feeding these magnificent creatures. Space is limited to 12 people, so register early!
