Local DAR offers genealogy workshop

The Fox River Valley Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will offer a Beginner Genealogy Workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Huntley Area Public Library, 11000 Ruth Road.

If you would like to start climbing your family tree, get help in this genealogy workshop from Kristen McCusker. The DAR helps people research their family history and is dedicated to historic preservation and education. Learn about and access genealogy resources.

Pick up your genealogy starter packet at the children's desk when you register in person for this workshop. Attend with your own laptop or tablet or use one of the library's devices.

Program is for youth, ages 10 to 16. Any interested adult family member may attend with you. Register any time in person at the Children's Desk. Visit www.huntleylibrary.org.
