MCC to host its first Dinner with Dads in Business event

A panel of area business owners and managers in the automotive industry will share their knowledge about what skills, personal attributes and education students need to succeed in the automotive business at McHenry County College's first "Dinner with Dads in Business," and successful businessmen in the automotive industry. This dinner and panel discussion will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the MCC Scot Room in Building B at the college, 8700 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

"Dinner with Dads in Business" and other successful businessmen in the automotive industry is the first of a series of informational dinners that will take place each year to provide MCC students interested in business and specific industries with information on careers in business. High school students are also welcome.

A tour of the MCC Automotive Department will follow the dinner and panel discussion.

This event is similar to "Meals with Moms," a breakfast panel that debuted last March during Women's History Month and featured a panel of moms in business and other influential women who shared their challenges and career triumphs with MCC students.

The event is free and registration is required. To register to attend, or for more information, contact Sherry Ridge at (815) 479-7682 or email her at sridge@mchenry.edu and place "Dinner with Dads" in the subject line. Deadline to reserve a seat is Monday, Sept. 25.
