Willow Creek pastor to speak at Judson Sept. 1

Judson University will welcome Steve Carter, teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, back to campus on Friday, Sept. 1. The chapel service will begin at 10 a.m. at Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

Carter will be the guest speaker for chapel. He made a chapel presentation before in February 2016. This event is free and open to the public.

In addition to his pastoral duties at Willow Creek, Carter is the author of the book, "This Invitational Life: Risking Yourself to Align with God's Heartbeat for Humanity" (David C. Cook, 2016), a guide to help others get to know Jesus Christ. In it, he suggests that Christians must lean into their own stories, overcome fear and step out in faith.

He and his wife, Sarah, live in Barrington, with their two children.
