McHenry County College's Retired Adult Program to offer new classes

If you're looking for something new and fun to do this summer, the Retired Adult Program is a membership-based, educational noncredit program designed specifically for adults who age 50 and older.

In "Circle of Time: Elgin Watch Factory," Elgin historian Bill Briska highlights the rise and fall of the Elgin Watch Factory, America's leading manufacturer of fine jeweled watches. He will discuss the success of the American watch industry and ultimate decline.

Collectors are invited to bring some of their favorite examples of Elgin watches for informal sharing after the lecture. The class takes place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, in Room C106, at the college, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

Cost is $12. Use course code NRA S54 001 when registering.
