Schaumburg Library and Park District Partner for StoryWalk

Children are invited to read a book in nature this summer at the Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Rd., thanks to a partnership between the Schaumburg Library and Schaumburg Park District. Pages of a book will be posted along the grassy prairie trails - one in June and a different one in July. No registration or fee is required. To find the StoryWalk starting point, visit the nature center and head to the spot where Bison's Bluff playground meets the prairie path. To help celebrate this new project, the library is hosting three all-ages events that do not require registration.

A Ribbon Cutting & Storywalk Storytime will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 2 at Bison's Bluff playground. Join the fun as the library unveils StoryWalk, and hear a story out in the fresh air. Another StoryWalk Storytime will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday June 30 in the same location. Children will have the opportunity to build a fort and hear a story at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 28 when the library holds StoryWalk Storytime and Fort Building. Families are welcome to hike the nature center's trails, through prairie and woods, before or after the library events.

For a full listing of events, programs and classes taking place at the Schaumburg Library and its branches in Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates, see the library's website at www.SchaumburgLibrary.org.
