Trinity to host Reformation Conference Sept. 14-15

Deerfield, Ill. - Early-bird registration has opened for a national conference Sept. 14-15 at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) that will focus on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

The conference, "Reformation and the Ministry of the Word," will feature presentations from TEDS faculty and invited scholars from two continents.

Scholars scheduled to speak include Timothy George, Dean of Samford University's Beeson Divinity School, Michael Haykin of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ron Rittgers of Valparaiso University, Jung-Sook Lee, President of Torch Trinity Graduate University in Seoul, South Korea, Michael Horton of Westminster Seminary-California, and Kevin De Young of University Reformed Church, East Lansing, Mich.

TEDS faculty members scheduled to make presentations include President David S. Dockery, Assistant Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology David Luy, and Professor of Church History Scott Manetsch, who is also one of the conference coordinators.

"The Reformation was a dynamic renewal movement unleashed by God's powerful word that changed the face of western Christianity," Manetsch said. "Our conference will explore the Bible's transformative impact on the theology and ministry practice of Protestant churches, both then and now."

Early-bird registration is available online for $100 until April 1. After that date, the price will increase to $125. Accommodations within walking distance of the conference are available at the Bannockburn La Quinta Inn, which will provide a Trinity discount on request.
